CalmEze Plus Equine is a paste designed for horses to manage anxiety-related conditions. It is a nutritional aid that can be helpful in calming horses that are stressed. Common stressors that horses experience include box rest, sickness, pain, change in environment, traveling, inappropriate riding, competition, grooming, shoeing, and dental work.

To administer it, you need to determine the horse's weight and then give an appropriate amount of powder or paste. For instance, foals, weanlings, and ponies that weigh less than 250 kg should receive ½ Sachet (25 g) of powder or 10 ml of paste. Horses that weigh less than 500 kg should receive the same amount of powder or 20 ml of paste. Large horses that weigh more than 500 kg should receive 1 Sachet (50 g) of powder or 25 ml of paste.

If you plan to use CalmEze Plus Equine for an extended period, it is advisable to speak to your veterinarian. You can mix it into the horse's feed and administer it one to two hours before the stressful event or activity. If the desired effect is not achieved, you can repeat the process. If the period of stress is longer than one day, continue with once-daily dosing for the duration of the stressful period.

The active ingredients in CalmEze Plus Equine are L-TRYPTOPHAN, PEPTAZINE®, L-THEANINE, N-ACETYL TAURINATE MAGNESIUM, THIAMINE (Vitamin B1), and NIACIN (Vitamin B3). L-TRYPTOPHAN is a precursor of serotonin, which controls behavior and mood. Low levels of serotonin have been observed to be directly related to aggression, depression and stress. PEPTAZINE® is a hydrolyzed peptide with benzodiazepine-like effects and sympathoadrenal activity. It promotes increased levels of GABA in the hippocampus and hypothalamus, thereby reducing anxiety. L-THEANINE increases the levels of GABA, which is essential for the control of the central nervous system responses during periods of fear and anxiety. It also helps to increase serotonin and dopamine levels and reduces cortisol and noradrenaline levels. N-ACETYL TAURINATE MAGNESIUM is essential for cellular health and function. It regulates vascular tone and heart rhythm. It plays an important role in reducing nerve excitability and muscle spasms. THIAMINE (Vitamin B1) is important for energy metabolism within the central nervous system. It has been shown to reduce anxiety and improve general well-being. Deficiencies can cause selective loss of neurons, cholinergic neurotransmitter function impairment, and can lead to generalized anxiety disorder. NIACIN (Vitamin B3) is the key mediator for neuronal development and survival during oxidative stress. Deficiencies can cause dementia, depression, and neurodegenerative-like symptoms. Niacin has been indicated as a treatment for ischemic and traumatic injuries, psychiatric disorders, and neurological diseases. PYRIDOXINE (Vitamin B6) is an essential co-factor for the conversion of 5-HTP into serotonin. It has been shown to increase the transport of tryptophan into serotonergic neurons, thereby increasing serotonin synthesis. Deficiencies can lead to a reduced number of serotonin-2 receptor sites.
